Chris J. Worden Gregg:

Artist Statement

My formal study in art was under the Fine Arts Program at Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green Ohio, Famous Artist Schools Westport Connecticut, Art Instruction, Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Bear Tooth School of Wildlife Art, Big Timber, Montana and the Wetlands Institute, Stone Harbor New Jersey. My painting and the elements that compose them are an accumulation of the formal education and a lifetime of study, observation and practice. These experiences have enabled me to adopt my own personal style in presenting the subject matter in my own simple yet technically complex manner. My focus is always in the presentation of the abstracts of line, `composition and color in a painting. In every painting my goals include, dramatic color, interesting compositions, sharp focus and the atmospheric intangibles of light and temperature that make the subject matter present a high level of visual excitement and professionalism.

I currently focus on depicting wildlife and the natural habitat. One of my objectives is for my work to support the growing concern for wildlife and the habitat we share. I would like my paintings to invoke a sense of urgent participation in supporting the various organizations and agencies devoted to the conservation efforts of our animal world.
